Hot-Air Balloon Landing in My Yard (1990)

On the morning of Sunday, December 2, 1990, a Remax hot-air balloon landed in my own backyard!

My dad immediately grabbed our RCA VHS camcorder and began filming the event. Almost 19 years later, I finally got around to uploading the video to YouTube (mainly because there was no such thing as YouTube in 1990).

The video shows the actual landing and the balloon deflating. You will also get to see me as a 1 year old. I had just turned one a few days prior to this.

By the way, I still live at this house, except those pine trees beside the road are MUCH bigger in 2009.

What Billy’s Up To: July 22, 2009

Hi there, I thought I would chime in and let all of you know what’s going on.

First of all, I’m still in the planning stages of Life Around The Circle: Stories of Carolina Circle Mall. I haven’t been able to work on it lately because I was at the beach most of last week. It’s going to happen, I promise. Suggestions are still wanted.

I begin my classes at GTCC on August 17th. I will be taking a course in communications. One class is History of Rock Music (don’t ask me how that wound up being a class). I am planning on doing two years there and two more years at UNC Greensboro to get a degree in journalism.

I’ve been doing a lot of driving lately, most of it in my own car, a 1995 Honda Accord. I even drove it all the way to North Myrtle Beach, SC and back last week. A video of the car will be posted on YouTube once I get the chance to tape it.

Welcome

I've been blogging since August of 2005 when I was only 15. Tonight, I realized that I've never really had a blog to use just for personal issues regarding my life.

So, I have decided to do something about it with a new blog called "Billy's Blog" (creative title, huh?).

I will use this blog for personal issues regarding my life, what I'm up to, miscellaneous posts that don't really fit anywhere, and to posts updates to my Carolina Circle Mall related websites.
